Known as the most recently discovered bird of Sri Lanka, its habitat is the rain forests in the southwestern region of Sri Lanka. This bird can be observed in the Sinharaja Rain Forest, Kitulgala Forest Reserve, The Peak Wilderness Sanctuary and the Morapitiya Forest Reserve.
