DAY 1 - Negombo
On your arrival, stay closer to the airport in Negombo to have a good night of sleep before the round trip. Negombo is a seaside town situated within 20 minutes drive from Colombo International Airport and is a good base to start your journey in Sri Lanka. On this day you will be staying in a comfortable 3 star hotel with a swimming pool in Negombo.
DAY 2 & 3 - Sigiriya
Stay in a rustic Tree House amidst the nature with Sigiriya and Pidurangala Rocks being closely situated to the Tree House. Explore the cultural highlights such as Sigiriya Rock by cycles accompanied by a villager who will show you the way around across rural villages of Sigiriya. You may also visit Dambulla Cave Temple and Polonnaruwa ruins, which are “Not to miss” historical monuments of Sri Lanka.
DAY 4 & 5 - Kandy
Stay with a local family in Kandy to experience non commercial hospitality of Sri Lanka for which we are reputed for. This is a very authentic experience to interact with locals where you would be accompanied by the host to a local traditional baker to buy bread for dinner (You may make your own bread at the bakery) and on second day, the host will take you to a local market to buy the ingredients for a traditional Sri Lankan cooking experience which is done at the home stay. You would also have some free time to explore Kandy on your own, with a visit to Temple of Tooth Relic.
DAY 6 & 7 - Ella
Take the scenic train journey from Kandy to Ella along the British built railway line to transport their Tea harvest to Colombo port. This is a nostalgic locomotive ride through the tea estates, forest patches and sleepy villages. A "Not to miss" attraction in Sri Lanka. You will be staying in a simple guest house with a stunning view of the Ella Mountains. If you feel adventurous, try conquering the Ella Rock or less challenging Little Adam's Peak.
DAY 8 & 9 - Wellawaya
Stay with local farmers for two nights in a rural farm by the border of Yala NP for a wildlife and agricultural experience where you will be sleeping in an eco and traditional clay house with thatched roof overlooking a lake frequented by the Elephants. You would be able to witness the Elephants in their utmost natural habitat while you sip a chilled beer or a cup of Ceylon Tea during a safari in the backyard of the farm which is a private show. At the farm you would be able to explore the fruit and vegetable fields to study about traditional farming methods mastered by the local famers for centuries. Fishing in the lake and canoeing in a traditional catamaran are some of the activities you may take part. On the last night at the farm, the farmers will serve you an outdoor BBQ dinner amidst a roaring campfire.
DAY 10 & 11 - Galle
Stay the last two nights of your tour in Sri Lanka in Galle, very good place to wrap up your journey in Sri Lanka by exploring the southern coastal town which is very much influenced by the Dutch settlers. A villager will take you to explore countryside of Galle by cycles where you would witness paddy fields, cinnamon plantation, temples and typical southern country life. The trip is not complete without a visit to architectural edifice of Dutch Galle Fort. Take a leisure stroll along the streets inside Galle Fort in the late afternoon and witness the sunset over the ramparts of Galle fort followed by an evening drink and dinner at one of the many trendy restaurants in the Fort.
DAY 12 to 15 - Maldives
On day 12 you will be flown to Male, the capitol of Maldives, just 1 hour flight from Colombo International Airport. Upon arrival, our representative will transfer you to a residential Island for a guest house stay in the Maldives. This residential Island boats a million dollar beach and shallow reef with crystal clear water which is almost like a swimming pool throughout the year. Explore the colourfull marine life in the reef just by walking to the beach, it is a house reef.
Diving with Manta Ray, Deep sea fishing trips, Island hopping, sand dune picnics or even romantic candlelit dinner by the beach are some of the experiences you could take on when in this residential Island with the locals.
DAY 16 - Flight back home
Say good bye to friendly Islanders and make your way to Male International Airport, a 1 hour speed boat trip and fly back home. Your perfect adventure in the Indian Ocean just came to a finish. Yes, at a budget.
