The village farm is the livelihood of the husband and wife duo and their family who run it. They together with farmhands engage in cultivating various crops for retailing, mostly organically grown, herbs, spices such as sweet cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, black pepper and cardamoms, various local vegetables and fruits, cassava and vanilla beans. In addition they make commodities from the Kitul sap, which they themselves tap to make Kitul Jaggery and Treacle. You can leisurely walk through the plantation while the various medicinal and nutritional benefits and cultivation methods are explained. Also watch the Kitul sap being tapped and treacle being made, the processing of cinnamon and other spices. After a tour around the farm, sit out in the airy patio of their home for some freshly boiled cassava served with coconut sambol and refreshing cups of black tea. You can also buy some fresh spices to take back with you!
