Kalpitiya: Is the best place to see Dolphins and during the season you can witness Dolphin pods up to 1000 to 1500 members at most given times. Boat trips to see Blue Whales from Mirissa during December to April. Whales go from Africa to Australia in the months of December to February and from March to April they do the return ward journey. Just in a 2 hours boat ride you can see them because the continental shelf is much closer when going from Mirissa.
